Recovering From RCU Errors in 11.2.x

It’s happened to all of us – some mistake in RCUSchema.properties has occurred during the 11.2.x EPM configuration process, causing your WebLogic deployments to fail but leaving everything else with green checkmarks. Subsequent deployment attempts are unsuccessful and you end up scrapping the configuration and starting over again. Here’s some hints and tips on how to avoid this outcome!

1. Remove the encrypted passwords from the RCUSchema.properties, enter the unencrypted values and save the file

  • Running the configtool and attempting to re-deploy could cause the system to encrypt already-encrypted values,                 adding to your woes

2. Delete your user_projects/domains folder. The configuration utility will have created a partially-complete WebLogic domain for you.

3. Delete your domain-registry.xml file, $ORACLE_HOME/domain-registry.xml

4. Re-run the Configuration Tool. Re-deploy your Java web applications. When prompted to create a new domain or use an existing one do this:

  • Select “Deploy Java web applications to a new domain”

  • Change the Admin server port that is populated from 7002 to 7001

5. Your mod_wl_ohs.conf file may not have updated, it is best to re-run the configuration utility and perform the “Configure Web Server” step after successfully deploying to the Application Server(s).
