Challenge

The 5 target Hyperion/Oracle EPM Planning applications had limited dimensional and hierarchical commonalities and given a relatively short four week project timeframe to complete implementation it was challenging to minimize data maintenance redundancies within DRM/DRG.

Guiding and training the inexperienced client staff through project implementation was difficult but they were quick to grasp the basic concepts. iArch did perform the conversions of all the EPMA data to appriate DRM/DRG import formats then guided the client through all the DRM/DRG import, conversion, validation and export steps. iArch also provided hands-on troubleshooting expertise throughout the project.

Outcomes

Project was successfully completed on time, in just 4 weeks. The completed project provided the client with an Oracle supported and more robust automated master data governance solution than that provided using the deprecated EPMA tool. Also, we were able to minimize the need to maintain isolated redundant data elements between the 5 target applications.

Background

Client was using deprecated product (EPMA) to perform master data management and governance functions for Hyperion/Oracle Planning.

The implementation was a turn-key solution for which the customer had no technical understanding. Furthermore due to budget restrictions the client desired only implementation guidance and not hands-on support.

The proposed solution was to migrate the data and functions to a fully supported and automated solution using DRM/DRG.
